stuffed animals come alive
marcus and lionel are two stuffed animals who have an owner who is moving. throughout the story lionel gets lost but the little girl{owner} and her mother find him at a yard sale. so get this book and find out how it got there and if she gets it back. out of 5 stars i would give this book 4 stars for easy reading. in the back of the book there are questions you can answer. for example What was packed in the same box as lionel?

Medicine Bear
Published in Paperback by Thunder Bay Press (April, 1997)
Authors: Menunqua and Menuqua
Average review score:

TRUE NATIVE AMERICAN CULTURE
"Medicine Bear", by Menonqua, is the best book I've ever read on the true oral history of Native Americans. The Natives had no written language. The storyteller would tell the accounts of the history of the tribe VERBATUM. Over and over again, his apprentace would listen to the true account of the clan's history. Nothing was left out, and nothing was added. When the storyteller died, the apprentace would assume his position of honor and he would then pick a new apprentace. "Medicine Bear" is truly unique for it's truth of a people woefully misunderstood by both Americans and non-Americans. The stereotypes that books, tv, movies, etc., have perpetuated upon the Native of America, has stood as "truth" until now. "Medicine Bear" is one of a kind; a very important tool for the understanding of the "Native American".

Applause
I am a Cree pipe carrier and I am so grateful for the gentle flowing words of prayer. Truly a humble man has written such a book of honoring the grandfathers as well as the words of the people whom he met. Kind and wonderous in its bringing together of Aboriginal and Christian beliefs as our path to one creator are meant to be.
